Cheap Tickets Canada has developed some Green Initiatives over the past 12 years to do our part in helping our environment including:
- Locating recycling bins throughout its offices to recycle paper, plastic and aluminum with paper recycling at every workstation.
- The back side of printed paper is made into staff note pads.
- Internal documents and data are stored electronically and not printed unless necessary.
- Replaced all light fixtures with low energy, high output fluorescent lights which use less than half the energy of standard energy efficient fluorescent bulbs.
- Cheap Tickets Canada uses reusable mugs and utensils in its lunchroom.
- Cheap Tickets Canada has invested in an advanced phone system which enables staff members to reduce their commuting energy consumption by allowing them to work from home.
- Cheap Tickets Canada hosts its website servers in data centers that keep power conservation in mind and leverages energy efficient hardware and equipment.
- We recycle and refill printer toner cartridges.
- Office computers that is not used after office hours, automatically shut down every evening. Other electronic office equipment such as printers operate in power saving modes and are turned off every evening.
- Cheap Tickets Canada can now send 100% of all airline tickets and most other travel documents by email. Travel documents are printed or sent in the mail only when we are requested to do so. Our booking confirmation numbers can be used in place of printed documents at the airport.
- All incoming fax documents are stored electronically and are only printed in rare circumstances when necessary.
- We operate low flush toilets in restrooms.
