North Shore of PEI

The North Shore of PEI is absolutely beautiful--the sandy beaches mixed with red cliffs and green fields are a sight to see. My favourite place in that area would have to be my home town of North Rustico. The best things to do there are:
1: Go for a walk on the boardwalk to experience the breathtaking views of the bay.
2: Go to the free beach at "the harbour"
3: If you are looking for the island lobster supper experience--the Fisherman's Wharf is in North Rustico.
4: Ice cream or food at Amanda's in the middle of the village.
5: If you are looking to buy seafood to prepare yourself-Doiron's is a great place to do so.
6: The village bakery has excellent rolls to accompany your seafood treats!
7: Depending on the time of year, you might see a tuna being landed.
8: North Rustico is known as THE place with the best Canada Day fireworks outside of Ottawa. They are displayed over the water--simply beautiful.

I could go on and on-as you can see, I am very proud of my home town...
Cheers,
D

Enjoying PEI

We are definately enjoying PEI. Spent Friday June 26th, 2009 enjoying the Cavendish Area and the beautiful white sand beaches in the Stanhope Cape area. Tomorrow we are set to check out Charlottetown, its history and the Anne of Green Gables Musical.

Welcome to our network and site Denise, hope you enjoy your stay here.

I grew up in PEI, played on all those beaches, my parents used to have a restaurant in summer side called the country kitchen years ago. Nearly 20 years ago now i think. Was an art gallery as well.

I miss the red beaches and the fields of lupins in the summer.
