Air Canada planning to launch another Low Cost Carrier

Air Canada has revealed plans to launch a low cost carrier to destinations such as Mexico, Europe and the Caribbean. This business plan is still being developed as was revealed in a recent letter between Air Canada and its pilot's association (Spring 2011). It calls for starting a carrier with 10 aircraft and possibly increasing to 50. From 2001 to 2003 Air Canada did launch a discount carrier called Air Canada Tango in an attempt to lower costs as it struggled. It will be interesting to see how this venture fairs. More info
