23 DAY - CENTRAL INDIA ITINERARY

DAY 1

Arrival day in Chennai. Orientation and rest.

DAY 2
Drive to Kanchipuram and visit this small town full of ancient Chola temples, overnight in the beach resorts of Mamallapuram.

DAY 3
Visit world heritage site at Mamallapuram in morning, free afternoon to relax on the beach at the resort.

DAY 4

Drive to Trichy in the morning, afternoon visit to the towering Rock fort for a great view of the city.

DAY 5
Morning visit to Thanjur with the huge Brihadishwara temple, afternoon we walk the crowded lanes of the spectacular Srirangam temple.

DAY 6

Day drive to Bangalore, evening out discovering this fascinating city.

DAY 7

Morning drive to Mysore, Amber Vilas palace and city tour in the afternoon.

DAY 8

Visit Somnathpur a quaint village home to the Keshava temple, afternoon free time to discover India’s most friendly city.

DAY 9

Morning drive to Hassan, we visit Belur and Halebedu temples- magnificent sculptured carvings make these the finest in South India.

DAY 10

Morning drive to Chitradurga fort, a massive fort built on seven hills. Overnight in Devangere.

DAY 11
We make our way to Hampi! The 14th century Vijayanagar ruins. Spectacular site over 10sq km set in a boulder-strewn landscape. Afternoon we tour the perimeter sites by vehicle.

DAY 12

Morning tour of Hampi bazaar, the Virapaksha temple, and afternoon free for exploration or relaxing at hotel pool.

DAY 13

Drive to Bijapur in afternoon, tour dinner together in the evening.

DAY 14

All day sightseeing one of India’s ancient Islamic cities, with visits to the Golgumbaz and Ibrahim Rauza.

DAY 15

Visit to Badami the smallest town on tour; cave temples, wonderful ambience of village life and very much off the beaten path.

DAY 16

All day drive to Goa down the very scenic Western Ghats.

DAY 17

Free beach time.

DAY 18

Free beach time or optional visit to Goan town for sightseeing.

DAY 19

Fly to Aurangabad, late afternoon arrival.

DAY 20

Visit Ellora the world heritage site of monolithic cave sculptures, city tour including the mini-Taj.

Day 21

Fly to Mumbai, city tour and walk around Gateway of India, Colaba causeway, all within steps from our hotel.

Day 22

Free last day for shopping and exploring, in the worlds most maximum city.

Arrive in Cochin - Kerala's prime tourist destination set in a stunning location between the Arabian Sea and the backwaters. Take a short ferry ride to Fort Cochin to see the sites such as the Mattancherry Palace, Jewish Synagogue, St. Francis Church and Chinese Fishing Nets.

DAY 15
Drive to Munnar - a hill station that was once the summer resort of British Government. View sprawling Tea plantations, exotic flora and winding lanes that make this a popular resort town. Observe the tea plants spreading out over hundreds of kilometers like a green carpet.

DAY 16

Morning drive to Thekkady in the spice hills and Periyar Wildlife sanctuary.

DAY 17
Morning drive to Kottayam. Overnight in a beautiful secluded bird sanctuary.

DAY 18

Check onto houseboat for 24-hour cruise in the tropical backwaters of Kerala.

DAY 19

Drive to Trivandrum city, overnight in beach resort at Kovalem.

DAY 20
Free beach time.

Day 21

Free beach time.

DAY 22

Fly back to Bangalore for final shopping day, and night on the town.

( or choose to fly out of Trivandrum to Singapore, with an extra day on the beach)
